Moving Along

Today was very full and productive work day. We started the day working on getting rebar cut and bent, while some of the team worked with the locals to set up our shoring. Once our shoring - the wooden layout that temporarily hold up the top part of the bridge until it dries - was completed, some of our team had to crawl under and get some extra bracing added.

It was a dirty job, and tested our claustrophobia a bit, but all in the name of safety, so it was time well spent.

Other than that, the only task we had left for the day was to start laying out our rebar and get ready for more concrete. Things continued to go smoothly, then Benjamin asked "When do you want to pour tomorrow." It wasn't until that point that we realized how close we were. If all goes according to plan, we might just be done with this bridge tomorrow evening.

Still, there's a lot of work to be done, and given the extra time, if we need to take things slow, we will. Please pray for a productive and safe day tomorrow!

Here are some ways to pray for us:

  1. Our shoring is secure, but if anything were to happen to it, it would be a major setback, so pray for minimal rain and flooding, just in case!

  2. Our team is set to pour tomorrow evening, but we still have a lot accomplish, so pray for productivity.

  3. Pray for the rest of our time here, that if we have extra time that we will find new ways to serve Trigo y Miel.

Here are some areas of thanksgiving:

  1. Everything is moving smoothly and safely, and we're looking forward to getting more done tomorrow

  2. Our local help has been a major factor in the efficiency of this build, we again praise God for them

  3. Everyday our relationship with the team at Trigo and with the local builders improves
