Back Home!

The last couple days of the trip were times of reflection, prayer, and connection with the Trigo y Miel team. On Saturday, we spent the morning cleaning and organizing our workspace, trying to leave it as clean as we found it. After lunch, Jose and Raquel again took time out of their day to take us around the city of Oaxaca.

We got to see the local market, try different foods, checkout new shops, and even eat some crickets. But for a lot of our team, the highlight was more time spent with Jose and Raquel. Once we returned, our team shared prayer requests, highlights from the trip, and what we wanted to remember when we left. It was great to think back on the trip and see how God was working in all of us differently even though we shared experiences.

Sunday morning, we packed up and headed to church, where we said our goodbyes. Before we left, Victor had the congregation pray over us and our travels, and handed us a card from the team at Trigo y Miel. It was tough saying farewell to these people who we had gotten to know over the past two weeks.

As we return home, it's those people we want to remember. God gave us the opportunity to be a part of Trigo y Miel's ministry for two weeks, but they're doing amazing work all year. Victor, Lety, Yuli, Julian, Raquel and Jose continue to serve God and others, building them up in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.

We're thankful for the success of the bridge, and the impact that this trip had on our team. We also are thankful for God's work in Oaxaca, and for the lives he is changing there. Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for this trip.

As we close out our time as a team here are some things to keep in prayer:

  1. Our team - As we go our separate ways, pray over the rest of the summer, and that God will continue to work in us

  2. Trigo y Miel - Pray for the ministry in Oaxaca and for the lives it impacts

  3. The bridge - Pray that our bridge will be a continued blessing to the work at Trigo y Miel

(PS - the answer to the riddle was sunglasses)
